Stainless Steel 347 Flanges are made up of columbium (niobium) + tantalum stabilized austenitic stainless steel flanges that are used in high-temperature applications where sensitization and intergranular corrosion resistance is required. Addition of niobium, SS 347 inhibits the formation of chromium carbide when used within the temperature range of 427°C-816°C and therefore it is very reliable in welded structures. It is also better than 321 in marine and low-temperature corrosive conditions and also has good resistance to polythionic acid stress corrosion cracking, particularly used in refineries. SS 347H offers enhanced creep strength at temperatures exceeding 538 °C, where it is essential in aerospace and power applications.
