Stainless Steel 316H Pipes & Tubes Supplier, Exporter & Stockist in India
Stainless Steel 316Ti Pipe (UNS S31635, DIN 1.4571) is a titanium-stabilized austenitic stainless steel pipe designed for high-temperature welded fabrications and corrosive environments. The titanium addition (5× minimum of carbon + nitrogen content) eliminates sensitization and intergranular corrosion risk during welding and service above 425°C — the primary limitation of standard Grade 316. Available to ASTM A312 TP316Ti, ASTM A213, ASTM A269, and ASTM A358 standards. Amardeep Steel Centre supplies SS 316Ti Pipes & Tubes in seamless, welded, ERW, and EFW forms from ½" NB to 24" NB, with complete EN 10204 3.1 MTC documentation, IBR Form III-D, and third-party inspection. Ready stock in Mumbai for immediate worldwide export.
What is Stainless Steel 316Ti Pipe?
Stainless Steel 316Ti is an austenitic stainless steel of the 300 series, specifically a titanium-stabilized variant of Type 316. Designated as UNS S31635 and DIN 1.4571, it contains the same base chemistry as standard 316 — 16–18% chromium, 10–14% nickel, and 2–3% molybdenum with the addition of titanium at a minimum of 5× the combined carbon and nitrogen content.
The role of titanium is critical: it acts as a stabilizing element that preferentially combines with carbon, preventing the formation of chromium carbides at grain boundaries during welding or prolonged exposure to temperatures between 425°C and 870°C (the "sensitization range"). Without stabilization, chromium depletion at grain boundaries creates pathways for intergranular corrosion, a failure mode that renders standard 316 unsuitable for many welded applications.
As a result, SS 316Ti pipe does not require post-weld solution annealing to restore corrosion resistance, making it highly cost-effective for complex fabrications where heat treatment after welding is impractical.
ASTM A312 TP316Ti — Standard Overview
ASTM A312 is the primary specification covering seamless and straight-seam welded austenitic stainless steel pipes. TP316Ti stainless steel pipe is the grade designation within A312 for titanium-stabilized 316 alloy (UNS S31635). The specification covers 316Ti stainless steel pipes for high-temperature and general corrosive service in sizes ½" NB to 24" NB and larger.

Frequently Asked Questions — SS 316Ti Pipes & Tubes
What is the difference between 316 and 316Ti?
Grade 316Ti contains titanium (min. 5× C+N content) which stabilizes the alloy against intergranular corrosion during welding and elevated-temperature service (425–870°C). Standard 316 lacks this stabilization and may require post-weld annealing. In terms of general corrosion and pitting resistance, both grades perform identically.
What is UNS S31635?
UNS S31635 is the Unified Numbering System designation for Stainless Steel Grade 316Ti. It is also known as DIN 1.4571 (Europe), SUS 316Ti (Japan), and 320S31 (British Standard).
Is 316Ti the same as 1.4571?
Yes. DIN/EN 1.4571 (designation X6CrNiMoTi17-12-2) is the European equivalent of UNS S31635 / ASTM TP316Ti. The chemistry is essentially identical.
What temperature can SS 316Ti pipe handle?
SS 316Ti retains its sensitization resistance and corrosion properties up to approximately 870°C (1,600°F) in oxidizing conditions. Its high-temperature creep strength begins to decrease significantly above 600°C but remains superior to standard 316 and 316L at temperatures above 550°C.
Does 316Ti require post-weld heat treatment?
Generally, no. The titanium stabilization in 316Ti prevents chromium carbide precipitation, so post-weld solution annealing is not required to restore corrosion resistance — this is the primary advantage over standard 316. However, PWHT may still be required for specific pressure vessel code compliance.
What is the minimum order quantity (MOQ) for SS 316Ti pipe?
Amardeep Steel Centre can supply as little as one piece for standard stock sizes. For non-stock specifications, MOQ varies by mill and size. Contact our sales team for current stock availability and pricing.
Can you supply 316Ti pipe with EN 10204 3.1 MTC?
Yes. All SS 316Ti Pipes & Tubes supplied by Amardeep Steel Centre are available with EN 10204 Type 3.1 Material Test Certificate traceable to the original mill heat number. Type 3.2 (jointly certified) MTC is available on request.
What is the delivery time for SS 316Ti pipe from stock?
Ex-stock items (common sizes in SCH 10, SCH 40, and SCH 80) can be dispatched within 3–5 business days. Non-stock sizes and special schedules typically require 4–8 weeks from mill order. Contact us for current stock availability.
