What Are Inconel 825 Pipes and Tubes?
Inconel 825, commonly known as Incoloy 825 or Alloy 825 (UNS N08825), is a very well-made nickel-iron-chromium alloy that works exceptionally well in severe, corrosive environments. It has a robust chemical structure because molybdenum, copper, and titanium were mixed in certain ways. Inconel 825 Pipes & Tubes have balanced chemistry that protects them in more than one way. The copper makes them particularly resistant to acids that break things down, like sulfuric and phosphoric acid. The chromium protects them from acids that oxidize things, like nitric acid. The molybdenum also makes the material less likely to pit and corrode in crevices, and the high nickel concentration protects it almost totally from chloride-ion stress corrosion cracking. Adding titanium to the alloy makes it more stable when welding. Even after they have been welded, this renders Inconel 825 Seamless & Welded Pipes & Tubes resistant to intergranular corrosion. This makes them the best choice for demanding uses in acid production, chemical processing, and oil and gas recovery.
