What are Inconel Flanges?

Inconel flanges are pipe fittings used to create strong, leak-proof connections in piping and equipment systems. They are manufactured from nickel-chromium alloys that offer high strength and excellent resistance to corrosion.

This makes them suitable for applications involving high temperatures, extreme pressures, and aggressive environments. These flanges are produced in accordance with ASTM B564 specifications, ensuring compliance with industry standards.

Key advantages include resistance to oxidation, scaling, and thermal fatigue at elevated temperatures. Their good weldability also allows easy fabrication and customization.

Due to these properties, they are widely used in industries such as aerospace, chemical processing, oil and gas, marine, and power generation. Explore our high-quality Inconel Products, such as pipes, tubes, flanges, and fittings, designed for outstanding durability and resistance to corrosion.

Frequently Asked Questions About Inconel Flanges

1. What is the most widely specified Inconel grade for flanges?

Inconel 625 (UNS N06625, DIN 2.4856) is the most commonly specified grade for industrial Inconel pipe flanges. Its combination of high strength, outstanding corrosion resistance across a wide range of environments including seawater, chloride solutions and reducing acids, and NACE MR0175 compliance makes it the default choice for offshore, marine and sour gas service. Inconel 600 and 601 are preferred for high-temperature atmospheric and carburising service, while Inconel 718 is specified where high mechanical strength is the primary requirement.

2. What sizes and pressure classes do you supply?

Amardeep Steel supplies Inconel pipe flanges from 1/2 inch NB to 60 inch NB across all ANSI/ASME B16.5 pressure classes from Class 150 to Class 2500. For large-diameter flanges (NPS 26 inch to 60 inch), we comply with ASME B16.47 Series A and Series B. DIN and EN flanges are supplied in PN6 to PN100. Custom sizes and non-standard borings are available on request with a typical lead time of 3 to 5 weeks.

3. Do you supply Inconel flanges with IBR certification?

Yes. We supply Inconel flanges with IBR (Indian Boiler Regulation) certification for power generation, boiler and pressure vessel applications in India. IBR-certified flanges come with a separate IBR Form 3C test certificate in addition to the standard EN 10204/3.1 MTC. Please specify IBR certification in your enquiry.

4. What is the difference between ASTM B564 and ASME SB564?

ASTM B564 is the specification published by ASTM International for nickel alloy forgings. ASME SB564 is the identical specification adopted by the American Society of Mechanical Engineers for use within the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code (BPVC). A flange marked SB564 is dimensionally and chemically identical to one marked B564. Projects governed by ASME BPVC Section III or Section VIII typically require SB564 designation. Our flanges can be certified to either or both designations.

5. What test certificates do you provide with Inconel flanges?

Standard supply includes EN 10204/3.1 mill test certificates signed by our quality department. For projects requiring third-party validation, we provide EN 10204/3.2 certificates witnessed by TUV, SGS, Lloyd's Register, Bureau Veritas or DNV-GL. Additional documentation available includes PMI (Positive Material Identification) test reports, hardness test reports, 100% radiography reports, hydrostatic test reports, NACE MR0175 compliance certificates, and dimensional inspection reports.

6. How quickly can Inconel flanges be dispatched?

Standard Inconel 625 and 600 flanges in common sizes and Class 150 to 600 are typically available from stock and can be dispatched within 3 to 7 business days. Non-standard sizes, higher pressure classes (900 to 2500), rare grades (718, 825, 690), or large-volume project orders have lead times of 3 to 6 weeks depending on specification. Contact our sales team with your line list for a confirmed delivery schedule.

7. Can you supply Inconel 625 flanges for subsea service?

Yes. Inconel 625 is the primary material used in subsea flange connections due to its exceptional resistance to seawater pitting and crevice corrosion, combined with high strength and NACE MR0175 compliance for sour service. We supply subsea-grade Inconel 625 flanges with full traceability, EN 10204/3.2 certification, and surface finishes to project specifications. Rubber compound or metal ring gaskets for RTJ flanges can be co-supplied on request.

8. What is the minimum order quantity for Inconel pipe flanges?

There is no fixed minimum order quantity. We supply from single pieces for urgent maintenance requirements to full project volumes for large EPC contracts. For stocked sizes in Inconel 625 and 600, single-piece orders are accepted. For non-stocked grades or special specifications, we recommend a minimum of 5 to 10 pieces per size to justify the setup cost, though this is not a strict requirement. Please contact us for project-specific pricing regardless of order size.

Send us your line list or specification sheet and receive a detailed quote with availability and lead time within 24 hours. Amardeep Steel's technical sales team is ready to support your project from initial enquiry through to final delivery.
