ASTM A182 SS Socket Weld & Threaded Fittings Manufacturer and Exporter in India
Amardeep Steel manufactures and supplies Stainless Steel Forged Fittings across a full range of grades 304/304L, 321/321H, 317/ 317L, 446, 316Ti and more. Whatever the grade, size, or end-use requirement, we work with buyers directly to confirm the right specification before anything leaves our facility.
We have been supplying ASTM A182 forged fittings to the petrochemical, power, and marine sectors for over 25 years. Every order ships with Mill Test Certificates (MTC) as per EN 10204 3.1/3.2. PMI testing, ultrasonic testing, and hydrostatic testing are available on request. We are ISO 9001 certified.
SS Forged Fittings from Amardeep Steel are built for demanding service high-pressure lines, high-temperature environments, and systems where leakage simply is not an option. These fittings are a standard choice in chemical processing, oil and gas, marine, desalination, power generation, sugar, automotive, and aviation pipelines.
The corrosion resistance in stainless steel forged fittings comes from the nickel-chromium base. In 316 and 316L grades, molybdenum is added for stronger pitting resistance in chloride environments. Grade 321 uses titanium as a stabiliser to prevent sensitisation at elevated temperatures. We produce these fittings through hot forging and impression die forging both methods work the steel under pressure, tightening the grain structure and giving the finished fitting better mechanical strength than a cast equivalent at any pressure class.
Raw material is sourced from verified mills only. We do not substitute grades or cut corners on incoming inspection; the chemistry gets checked before production starts. Destructive and non-destructive testing runs throughout the process, not just at final inspection, so dimensional and structural issues get caught early.
Fittings are available across a broad size and schedule range, with custom dimensions on request. Packaging is done in-house wood cases, end caps, and moisture protection where needed so the product arrives in the same condition it left. Documentation, including MTC, test reports, and packing lists, ships with every consignment.

Stainless Steel Forged Fittings Price List
Stainless Steel Forged Fittings prices vary by grade (304/316/316L), pressure class (3000-9000 LB), size (1/8 inch to 4 inch), and connection type (socket weld vs. threaded). Grade 316L commands a premium over 304 due to molybdenum content. Contact us for a grade-specific price list most orders are quoted within 24 hours.
Key Advantages of SS Forged Fittings for High-Pressure Applications

Threaded vs. Socket Weld Stainless Steel Forged Fittings - Key Differences
When specifying stainless steel forged fittings, the choice between threaded and socket weld connections depends on operating pressure, maintenance access, and installation environment.
| Property | Threaded Fittings | Socket Weld Fittings |
|---|---|---|
| Connection Type | Screw-threaded (NPT / BSP) | Welded socket (fillet weld) |
| Ease of Installation | Easy - no welding required | Requires certified welding |
| Leak Resistance | Moderate - can loosen over time | High - welded joints are permanent |
| Pressure Suitability | Class 2000, 3000, 6000 | Class 3000, 6000, 9000 |
| Size Range | 1/8 inch to 4 inch NB | 1/8 inch to 2 inch NB (Class 9000) |
| Maintenance | Easy to disassemble and replace | Requires cutting for removal |
| Corrosion Risk | Thread roots can trap corrosive media | Smooth bore, minimal crevice |
| Applications | Non-critical lines: water, air, low-pressure gas | High-pressure/high-temperature: oil, gas, steam |
| Cost | Lower - no welding labour | Higher - welding labour and inspection |

FAQs
1. What are stainless steel pipe fittings?
Stainless steel pipe fittings are precision components used to connect, redirect, or branch piping systems. In forged fittings specifically, the body is shaped under high compressive force rather than being cast, resulting in a denser grain structure, higher strength, and superior resistance to pressure and vibration compared to cast alternatives.
2. What are ASTM A182 304 Stainless Steel Forged Fittings?
ASTM A182 304 Stainless Steel Forged Fittings are pipe fittings made from stainless steel grade 304. They come in various shapes and sizes, including elbows, tees, and couplings. They are widely used in industrial and commercial piping systems due to their strength, durability and resistance to corrosion.
3. What are the Advantages of Using ASTM A182 304 Stainless Steel Forged Fittings?
The advantages of using ASTM A182 304 Stainless Steel Forged Fittings include their high strength and durability, resistance to corrosion and high temperatures, and ability to withstand extreme pressure and stress. They also offer ease of installation, maintenance and long service life, making them a cost-effective option for many industrial and commercial applications.
4. What are stainless steel socket weld fittings?
Stainless steel socket weld fittings (SS SW fittings) are forged pipe fittings where the pipe end is inserted into a recessed socket and then fillet-welded. They are used in high-pressure, high-temperature lines and are available in Class 3000, 6000, and 9000 per ASME B16.11. Common sizes range from 1/2 inch to 4 inch in grades 304, 316, and 316L.
