Stainless Steel 321H Forged Fittings are commonly used in piping systems where leak-proof, high-pressure, and temperature joints are needed. The fittings are especially useful in those applications where there is constant exposure to heat, since the titanium stabilization in Grade 321 prevents intergranular corrosion during welding. The 321H is not the same as regular 321 because of the increased carbon content, which increases high-corrosion strength and strengthens against harsh conditions, making it more effective in long-term high-temperature service than regular stainless steel fittings.
Stainless steel 321H is usually composed of 17-19% chromium, 9-12% nickel, and titanium to stabilize it. It provides a minimum tensile strength of 515Mpa and yield strength of 205 Mpa, and has great oxidation resistance and structural stability. These fittings are commonly used in refineries, petrochemical plants, heat exchangers, boilers and power generation units and are manufactured to ASTM A182, ASME B16.11 and MSS-SP standards.
