End Cross Tubes

End Cross Tubes

End Cross Tubes Manufacturer & Exporter in India

End Cross Tubes are specially manufactured finned tubes designed with a modified fin profile at both ends to facilitate proper installation in heat exchanger tube sheets and baffle arrangements. They are available in copper and stainless steel, with optional internal ribs to enhance the internal heat transfer coefficient. Amardeep Steel Centre manufactures, stocks, and exports End Cross Tubes in customized lengths and configurations according to customer drawings and heat exchanger requirements. Each tube can be supplied with the required plain-end dimensions for tube-sheet fitting.

All End Cross Tubes are supplied after pneumatic or hydrostatic testing, with a Mill Test Certificate (MTC) provided with every consignment.

What Are End Cross Finned Tubes

End Cross Finned Tubes are integral fin tubes in which the fin profile is specially modified near both ends. The cross-cut arrangement creates clear sections that allow the tube to pass through and seat correctly within tube sheets or baffle plates without interference from the fins. The main advantage of this construction is that it preserves the required finned heat-transfer area along the working length while providing suitable clearance at the tube ends for gripping, sealing, assembly, and fluid distribution.

End Cross Tubes can be manufactured with either low-fin or high-fin profiles, depending on the heat-transfer requirements. They are particularly used in vapour absorption chiller bundles and other heat exchanger applications where correct tube-end geometry and uniform fluid distribution are important to overall thermal performance.

The chromium and nickel content in TP304 and TP316 End Cross Tubes gives good resistance to the acidic condensate found in flue gas heat recovery, while the molybdenum in TP316 adds extra resistance where chloride-bearing water is in the circuit. Copper C12200 is used where the medium is clean water or refrigerant and thermal conductivity matters more than corrosion resistance.

The actual working pressure for a given order depends on wall thickness, tube diameter, corrosion allowance and the specific design code the heat exchanger is built to. Share your process conditions and we will confirm the exact rating for your End Cross Tube order.

Applications of Cross End Fin Tubes

End Cross Tubes are also specified inside larger heat exchanger tubes assemblies where the tube bundle passes through more than one baffle plate, since the end cross cutting has to be repeated at every plate the tube passes through.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is an End Cross Tubing?

An End Cross Tube is a finned tube where the fins at both ends have been cut away in a cross pattern so the tube can pass cleanly through a tube sheet or baffle plate without the fins interfering with the seal.

What is an End Cross Finned Tube used for?

\It is used wherever a finned tube has to be gripped or sealed at a tube sheet, most commonly in vapour absorption chillers, HVAC heat exchangers, power plant condensers and petrochemical process heat exchangers.

What is a Knurled Fin Tube, and how is it different from an End Cross Tube?

A Knurled Fin Tube has a roughened or knurled surface pressed into the plain end of the tube to improve the mechanical grip inside the tube sheet hole. An End Cross Tube instead removes material from the fin itself at the ends. The two treatments solve different problems and are sometimes combined on the same tube when the customer drawing calls for both a sealing surface and a knurled grip.

What is the difference between an End Cross Tube and a normal integral fin tube?

A normal integral fin tube carries the same fin profile along its entire length, including the sections that pass through the tube sheet. An End Cross Tube starts from the same fin profile but has the fins cut away at both ends, leaving a plain section that seats properly in the tube sheet.

Which materials are End Cross Tubes made from?

Amardeep Steel Centre supplies End Cross Tubes in Copper SB111 UNS C12200 and Stainless Steel SA213 TP304 and TP316. Carbon steel and alloy steel finned tubes are also available where the application calls for it.

What is the fin density or FPI of End Cross Tubes?

Our standard offering is 26 fins per inch. Alternate FPI can be produced to match your tube sheet layout, subject to confirmation with our engineering team.

Does Amardeep provide Mill Test Certificates with End Cross Tubes?

Yes, every consignment of End Cross Tubes ships with a Mill Test Certificate covering the chemical and mechanical properties of the material used.
