Alloy Steel Finned Tubes Manufacturer and Supplier
Amardeep Steel Centre LLP manufactures alloy steel finned tubes on Cr-Mo base tubes for high temperature economizers, waste heat recovery boilers and HRSG finned elements. Our alloy steel finned tubes combine the same ASTM A213 grades used in our boiler tube range with H type, extruded or welded fin construction. Send us your process temperature and we will recommend the correct base tube grade and fin type.
What Are Alloy Steel Finned Tubes?
Alloy steel finned tubes are chromium molybdenum (Cr-Mo) base tubes with a fin structure applied for applications where the flue gas or process temperature is too high for a carbon steel fin tube to hold up over its service life. The base tube metallurgy follows the same ASTM A213 grades used for alloy steel boiler tubes, while the fin construction follows the same options available across our other finned tube pages.
When Alloy Steel Finned Tubes Are Required
As a general guide, once flue gas or process temperature exceeds roughly 480°C to 500°C, a carbon steel fin tube can no longer be relied on for its full design life and a Cr-Mo alloy steel base tube becomes necessary. For the full grade by grade temperature rating, see our Alloy Steel Boiler Tubes page.

Alloy Steel Finned Tubes FAQs
Q. Why use an alloy steel base tube instead of carbon steel for a finned tube?
Carbon steel fin tubes are generally limited to moderate flue gas temperatures. Once the process or flue gas temperature goes above roughly 480°C to 500°C, a Cr-Mo alloy steel base tube, such as ASTM A213 T11 or T22, is needed to maintain adequate creep strength over the design life.
Q. What fin types are available on alloy steel base tubes?
H type welded fin, extruded or integral fin, and welded helical fin are all used on alloy steel base tubes, though extrusion becomes harder as base tube hardness increases, so welded fin construction is more common on the higher alloy grades.
Q. What applications need alloy steel finned tubes?
High temperature economizer banks, waste heat recovery boilers downstream of gas turbines or kilns, HRSG finned elements and refinery fired heater convection sections commonly specify alloy steel finned tubes.
