EN 10216-1 P235TR1 Seamless Pipes & Tubes

EN 10216-1 P235TR1 seamless pipes and tubes belong to the non alloy section of steel products that are used for pressure purposes as per EN 10216-1 standards. P235TR1 is identified by steel number 1.0254 and minimum yield strength of 235 MPa and tensile strength of 360 to 500 MPa. The grade is very popular for various pressure applications and is a replacement for earlier DIN 1629 St 37.0 grade, which was used widely. Amardeep Steel has been supplying these EN 10216-1 P235TR1 pipes and tubes along with the EN 10204 3.1 mill test certificates and full heat tracing. For elevated temperature service, see our EN 10216-2 P235GH tubes. For a lower strength grade, compare EN 10216-1 P195TR1 seamless tubes, or browse all carbon steel seamless pipes and tubes.

What Are P235TR1 Seamless Pipes and Tubes?

P235TR1 is a non-alloy steel for seamless pressure tubes with properties specified at room temperature. The higher manganese allowance (1.20% maximum) lifts the yield to 235 MPa while keeping the steel easy to weld and bend. As a TR1 quality, it has no aluminium requirement and no mandatory impact test. If impact values are needed, order P235TR2.

P235TR1 or P235GH?

Both grades have 235 MPa minimum yield, but P235GH is made to EN 10216-2 with yield values specified at elevated temperatures for boilers and pressure vessels. P235TR1 has properties specified at room temperature only. Use P235GH wherever the design temperature is above ambient.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is P235TR1?

P235TR1 (1.0254) is a non-alloy steel grade in EN 10216-1 for seamless pressure tubes, with 235 MPa minimum yield and 360 to 500 MPa tensile strength at room temperature.

What is the difference between P235TR1 and P235GH?

P235TR1 (EN 10216-1) has properties specified at room temperature. P235GH (EN 10216-2) has yield values specified at elevated temperatures and is used for boilers and pressure vessels.

What is the old DIN equivalent of P235TR1?

P235TR1 replaced St 37.0 from DIN 1629.

Does P235TR1 need an impact test?

No. Impact testing is not required for TR1 quality. Order P235TR2 if impact values are needed.

What is the tensile strength of P235TR1?

EN 10216-1 sets a tensile strength of 360 to 500 MPa for P235TR1.
