CW602N DZR Brass Hollow Bars (CuZn36Pb2As) Supplier and Exporter

CW602N DZR Brass Hollow Bars (CuZn36Pb2As)

CW602N DZR brass hollow bars are what a drawing asks for when a valve or tap body has to be machined or hot stamped and then live in water. CW602N is the EN grade code for CuZn36Pb2As, a leaded brass with a small arsenic addition. DZR stands for dezincification resistant, and the arsenic is the reason. It is not a lead free brass, and that is worth knowing before you place an order.

Amardeep Steel Centre supplies CW602N brass hollow bar from Mumbai, as a CW602N hollow bar supplier in India and for export buyers. Send the outside diameter, bore, length, temper and quantity on the enquiry page and Amardeep Steel Centre replies with what can be shipped and when.

Application of CW602N DZR Brass Hollow Bars

  • Valve and tap bodies: Parts machined or hot stamped from hollow stock, with the bore already through.
  • Water fittings: Fittings and connectors that carry chlorinated water, where dezincification is the failure to avoid.
  • Stopcocks and plumbing parts: Bodies, stems and sleeves finished by machining.
  • Boiler, condenser and heat exchanger parts: Components for water systems that have been checked, not for seawater.
  • Underground components: Buried fittings where soil moisture would attack ordinary brass.
  • Fasteners and machined parts: Bolts, screws and turned parts that need good machining.

If the duty involves seawater, this is the wrong page. See our admiralty brass seamless tube, aluminium brass seamless tube and copper nickel 90 10 pipes and tubes ranges.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are CW602N DZR brass hollow bars?

CW602N is a dezincification resistant leaded brass, CuZn36Pb2As in EN naming and C35330 in UNS, with about 62 per cent copper, 1.7 to 2.8 per cent lead and a small arsenic addition. Hollow bar is stock with a bore through it, used for machined and hot stamped valve and fitting parts.

What does DZR mean?

DZR stands for dezincification resistant. In ordinary brass the zinc can leach out in some waters, leaving a weak, porous copper structure. The small arsenic addition in CW602N slows that attack. It resists it better, but it does not make the brass immune, so tell us the water and the service.

Is CW602N lead free?

No. CW602N carries 1.7 to 2.8 per cent lead, which gives it good machining. It is not a lead free brass, and drinking water rules in many regions restrict leaded brass. Check the rule for the finished part, and ask us for a lead free grade if it applies. We make no compliance claim.

What is the difference between CW602N and CW614N?

CW614N is a free cutting brass with more lead and no arsenic, so it machines faster but is not dezincification resistant. CW602N gives up a little machinability, about 85 against 100, for resistance to dezincification. Choose CW602N where water is involved and CW614N for dry service.

Is CW602N the same as C35330 or CZ132?

They describe the same grade. C35330 is the UNS designation, CZ132 the British Standard code and CuZn36Pb2As the EN composition name. The limits are written in different standards, so check them against your drawing before substituting, and use CW602N on purchase orders.

Which standards cover CW602N hollow bar?

EN 12164 gives the CW602N composition for free machining rod, and EN 12165 covers forging stock. Hollow rod is covered by its own EN standard. Name the standard, temper and tolerance on your order so tests match your drawing, and we confirm what applies.

Looking to Enquire or Place an Order?

Tell Amardeep Steel Centre the size, the temper and the quantity, and what the part has to do. You get a price, a delivery date and a straight view on whether CW602N is the right brass for the job, and if it is not, we say so. You can attach your drawing to the enquiry.
