C26000 70/30 Lead Free Brass Pipe (Cartridge Brass) Supplier and Exporter

C26000 70/30 Lead Free Brass Pipe (Cartridge Brass)

C26000 70/30 lead free brass pipe is the brass for parts that have to be drawn, bent and flared without cracking. It is cartridge brass, about 70 parts copper to 30 parts zinc, written CuZn30 on European drawings, and the soft, ductile nature of that mix is the reason it was first drawn into cartridge cases.

Amardeep Steel Centre supplies C26000 brass pipe and C26000 brass tube from Mumbai, as a C26000 brass pipe supplier in India and for export buyers. Send the outside diameter, wall thickness, length, temper and quantity on the enquiry page and Amardeep Steel Centre replies with what can be shipped and when.

Application of C26000 70/30 Lead Free Brass Pipe

  • Heat exchanger and condenser tube: Tube for cooling water that has been checked, where the brass needs to bend, flare and braze.
  • Sugar plant evaporators: Evaporator and heat exchanger tube, after the juice and cleaning method are reviewed. Tell us if your drawing asks for arsenical CuZn30As.
  • Automotive radiator tubing: Tube drawn and formed into cores and tanks.
  • Plumbing and HVAC: Fittings, traps and refrigeration assemblies that are joined by soldering or brazing.
  • Instrumentation and hydraulic fittings: Small bore tube that is flared, bent and fitted.
  • Drawn and cold formed parts: Sleeves and shells that are deep drawn from tube.

If the duty involves seawater or fast cooling water, this is the wrong page. See our admiralty brass seamless tube, aluminium brass seamless tube and copper nickel 90 10 pipes and tubes ranges.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is C26000 70/30 lead free brass pipe?

C26000 is cartridge brass, a brass with about 70 per cent copper and 30 per cent zinc, also written CuZn30. It is sold as lead free because no lead is added and the limit is 0.07 per cent maximum. It is supplied as pipe and tube for heat exchangers, plumbing, radiator parts and drawn components.

Is C26000 really lead free?

No lead is added to the alloy, and ASTM B135 limits lead to 0.07 per cent maximum. Whether that counts as lead free for drinking water use depends on your region and certification. Ask us for the lead content on the certificate and check it against your own regulations.

What is the difference between C26000 and 63/37 brass?

C26000 has 68.5 to 71.5 per cent copper, while the 63/37 grades such as C27200 and C27400 have about 62 to 64. The higher copper makes 70/30 softer and more ductile, and the best of the group for deep drawing and bending. The 63/37 grades hot form more readily and cost less.

Is C26000 the same as CuZn30As or CW505L?

No. C26000 has no arsenic requirement. CuZn30As is arsenical brass, with 0.02 to 0.06 per cent arsenic added to resist dezincification, and it is a separate grade. CW505L is the nearest European match to C26000 and is a close match, not identical. Check the limits before substituting.

Is C26000 suitable for drinking water or seawater?

Not for seawater. Cartridge brass has less zinc than 63/37 brass, so it resists dezincification better, but it has no inhibitor and can still lose zinc in aggressive water. For drinking water, check the finished part's certification. For seawater, ask us for admiralty brass, aluminium brass or copper nickel.

Which standards and tempers apply to C26000 tube?

ASTM B135 covers seamless brass tube including C26000, and B587 covers welded tube. B111 is for condenser and ferrule tube. Tempers use codes such as OS025 and OS050 for annealed and H55, H58 and H80 for drawn. Name the standard and temper on your order so tolerances and tests match your drawing.
