C27200 63/37 Lead Free Brass Pipe (CuZn37) Supplier and Exporter

C27200 63/37 Lead Free Brass Pipe (CuZn37)

C27200 63/37 lead free brass pipe is made from a yellow brass with 62.0 to 65.0 per cent copper and the balance zinc, also written CuZn37. No lead is added, and the lead limit is 0.07 per cent maximum, tighter than the 0.10 per cent of C27000 and C27400. The tube is used for plumbing and sanitary fittings, HVAC parts, sugar plant components and general engineering.

Applications of C27200 63/37 Brass Pipe and Tube

C27200 is chosen where a part is hot formed, hot pressed or cold headed from tube and the water is not aggressive. The jobs below are the usual ones.

  • Plumbing and sanitary fittings: Used in selected connectors, fittings and hardware. Confirm potable water requirements and material certification before use.
  • HVAC and refrigeration: Considered for tubular components and fittings where the design requires brass and the service conditions permit its use.
  • General engineering: Used for sleeves, tubular parts and fabricated components made to a specified drawing.
  • Sugar and process plants: May be considered for selected equipment components after reviewing the process fluid, temperature, cleaning method and corrosion conditions.
  • Electrical components: Used in fittings and parts where brass conductivity and fabrication properties are suitable.
  • Furniture and lighting hardware: Considered for tubular supports, decorative components and fittings where appearance and formability are required.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is C27200 63/37 lead free brass pipe?

C27200 is a yellow brass containing approximately 63 per cent copper and 37 per cent zinc. Also called CuZn37, it is used for tubular components, fittings and general engineering applications.

Is 63/37 brass the same as cartridge brass?

No. Cartridge brass generally refers to C26000, a 70/30 copper and zinc alloy. C27200 is 63/37 yellow brass, with a different composition and forming behaviour.

Is C27200 really lead free?

No lead is intentionally added, and the supplied composition limits lead to 0.07 per cent maximum. Confirm the certificate and local requirements before using it in regulated applications.

What is the difference between C27200 and C27000?

C27200 is 63/37 brass, while C27000 is 65/35 brass. They differ in composition and may differ in forming behaviour and service suitability. Select the grade stated on your drawing.

Is C27200 suitable for drinking water or seawater?

Not automatically. C27200 can be vulnerable to dezincification in certain water conditions and should not be assumed suitable for seawater or potable water without application specific review and certification.

Is C27200 the same as CuZn37, CW508L and DIN 2.0321?

CuZn37 is a common composition designation for C27200. CW508L and DIN 2.0321 are often cited as close matches. Verify chemistry, product standards and tolerances before substitution.
