BS 2871 Part 3 CZ 110 Aluminium Brass Tubes Manufacturer and Supplier in India

BS 2871 Part 3 CZ 110 Aluminium Brass Tubes

BS 2871 Part 3 CZ 110 Aluminium Brass Tubes are seamless copper alloy tubes used in heat transfer equipment that are required to withstand high water-cooling environments. The alloy is about 77% copper, with controlled arsenic content to mitigate dezincification, and approximately 2% aluminium. Aluminium develops a protective oxide film which enhances the resistance to erosion-corrosion and impingement attack of flowing seawater. The same alloy is referred to in BS EN 12451 as CuZn20Al2As (CW702R), and is the superseding of BS 2871 Part 3. The tubes are widely used in marine condensers, thermal power stations, desalination plants, and industrial heat exchangers. Amardeep Steel supplies CZ110 Aluminium Brass Tubes with quality inspection and mill test certificates for domestic and international requirements.

Applications and Industrial Uses of BS 2871 Part 3 CZ110 Aluminium Brass Tubes

Frequently Asked Questions

1. What are BS 2871 Part 3 CZ110 Aluminium Brass Tubes?

CZ110 Aluminium Brass Tubes are seamless copper alloy tubes containing approximately 77% copper and 2% aluminium, used in condensers and heat exchangers.

2. Is CZ110 equivalent to ASTM B111 C68700?

CZ110 and ASTM B111 C68700 are closely equivalent aluminium brass grades, although their chemical composition limits may differ.

3. What is the difference between CZ110 and CZ111 brass?

CZ110 is aluminium brass containing approximately 2% aluminium, while CZ111 is admiralty brass containing approximately 1% tin.

4. What is the density of CZ110 Aluminium Brass?

The typical density of CZ110 Aluminium Brass is approximately 8.3 g/cm³.

5. Are CZ110 tubes suitable for seawater applications?

Yes. CZ110 tubes are suitable for seawater-cooled condensers and heat exchangers due to their resistance to erosion-corrosion and impingement attack.

6. What does condition O, TA or M mean in BS 2871?

O means annealed, TA means temper annealed (stress relieved), and M means as drawn (hard). Condenser tubes are usually supplied in condition O.

7. Is aluminium brass the same as aluminium bronze?

No. Aluminium brass (CZ110, C68700) is a copper-zinc alloy with about 2% aluminium, while aluminium bronzes such as C61300 are copper-aluminium alloys with little or no zinc.
