EN 10216-1 P195TR2 Seamless Pipes & Tubes

EN 10216-1 P195TR2 Seamless Pipes & Tubes

EN 10216-1 P195TR2 seamless pipes and tubes are used when standard P195TR1 is not enough and the material certificate needs to show verified impact performance. Made to steel number 1.0108, P195TR2 has the same 195 MPa minimum yield strength as P195TR1, but comes with tighter material controls. It is aluminium killed, has a lower sulfur limit and requires impact testing at 0°C, along with specific inspection requirements. This makes P195TR2 a better fit when a design code, project specification or client requires impact values to be recorded with the supplied material. Amardeep Steel supplies P195TR2 seamless pipes and tubes with EN 10204 3.1 mill test certificates, with 3.2 inspection available on request. You can compare it with our EN 10216-1 P195TR1 seamless tubes or browse all carbon steel seamless pipes and tubes.

What Are P195TR2 Seamless Pipes and Tubes?

P195TR2 is the quality 2 version of P195 in EN 10216-1. The minimum 0.020% total aluminium makes it a fully killed, fine grain steel, which gives more consistent toughness. Every lot is impact tested and supplied with specific inspection, so the certificate shows results from the tubes delivered.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is P195TR2?

P195TR2 (1.0108) is the quality 2 version of P195 in EN 10216-1: a non-alloy, aluminium killed steel for seamless pressure tubes, with mandatory impact testing and specific inspection.

What is the impact test requirement for P195TR2?

EN 10216-1 requires a Charpy V impact test at 0°C, with a minimum average of 40 J longitudinal or 28 J transverse.

Why is P195TR2 aluminium killed?

The minimum 0.020% total aluminium deoxidises the steel and refines the grain, which gives more consistent toughness.

Can P195TR2 replace P195TR1?

Yes. P195TR2 meets every P195TR1 requirement and adds impact testing and specific inspection. The reverse is not true.
