Stainless Steel 443 Seamless Pipes & Tubes

Stainless Steel 443 Seamless Pipes & Tubes

Amardeep Steel supplies Stainless Steel 443 seamless pipes and tubes to ASTM A268 grade TP443 (UNS S44300), a ferritic stainless steel with 18% to 23% chromium and about 1% copper. It is magnetic, nickel free and resists oxidation and many corrosive media better than 430. Compare our SS 430 tubes and SS 439 tubes, and browse all SS seamless pipes and tubes.

Every order comes with mill test certificates to EN 10204 3.1 and full heat traceability.

What Are Stainless Steel 443 Seamless Pipes and Tubes?

TP443 is one of the ferritic grades listed in ASTM A268, the specification for seamless and welded ferritic and martensitic stainless steel tubing for general service. Its copper addition of 0.90% to 1.25% improves resistance to some reducing acids, and its high chromium gives good oxidation resistance.

Two Grades Called "443"

The traditional Type 443 is UNS S44300, the grade in ASTM A268. A newer ferritic steel sold as "443" (UNS S44330) has about 21% chromium, low carbon, copper and titanium or niobium stabilization, and is used mainly as sheet. This page covers TP443 (S44300) tube. If your drawing names S44330, tell us with your enquiry.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Stainless Steel 443?

Stainless Steel 443 (UNS S44300, ASTM A268 TP443) is a ferritic stainless steel with 18% to 23% chromium and 0.90% to 1.25% copper, used for oxidation and corrosion resistance in tube form.

Is SS 443 covered by ASTM A268?

Yes. TP443 (UNS S44300) is one of the ferritic grades in ASTM A268 / ASME SA268 for seamless and welded tubing for general service.

What is the difference between UNS S44300 and S44330?

S44300 is the traditional Type 443 with up to 0.20% carbon and copper. S44330 is a newer 21% chromium ferritic grade with low carbon, copper and titanium or niobium stabilization, mainly sold as sheet.

Is SS 443 magnetic?

Yes. SS 443 is a ferritic stainless steel and is magnetic.
