Stainless Steel 410S seamless pipes and tubes (UNS S41008, EN 1.4000) are a lower carbon version of 410, containing 11.5% to 13.5% chromium. With carbon limited to 0.08%, the grade stays softer and more ductile after welding, making it easier to fabricate than standard 410. It is a useful choice for applications that need the corrosion and heat resistance of a chromium stainless steel without excessive hardening around welded areas. Amardeep Steel supplies SS 410S seamless pipes and tubes with EN 10204 3.1 mill test certificates, heat treatment records and complete heat traceability. What Are Stainless Steel 410S Seamless Pipes & Tubes?
Grade 410S is a ferritic, non hardening 12% chromium stainless steel. It resists oxidation and mild corrosion, and its low carbon means it does not form hard martensite in the weld zone, so welded parts stay ductile without post weld heat treatment.
410S vs 410: Why the "S" Matters
Standard 410 allows up to 0.15% carbon and hardens on cooling, which makes it strong but brittle near welds. 410S cuts carbon to 0.08% maximum and limits nickel, so it stays soft. Choose 410 when you need hardness; choose 410S when you weld the part or need formability.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is Stainless Steel 410S?
Stainless Steel 410S (UNS S41008, EN 1.4000) is a low carbon 12% chromium stainless steel with 0.08% carbon maximum, made so that it does not harden after welding.
What is the difference between 410 and 410S?
410 allows up to 0.15% carbon and hardens on cooling. 410S limits carbon to 0.08%, so it stays soft and ductile after welding and forming.
Is 410S stainless steel magnetic?
Yes. 410S is magnetic.
Can 410S be hardened by heat treatment?
No. Its low carbon content means 410S does not harden significantly by heat treatment. Use 410 or 420 when hardness is needed.
