Titanium Grade 1 tubes (UNS R50250) have the highest ductility and formability of the commercially pure titanium grades. Manufactured to ASTM B338 in seamless and welded form, Grade 1 is the softest commercially pure titanium grade, with the lowest oxygen and iron limits. This makes it easier to bend, flare and expand into tube sheets compared with higher strength CP titanium grades. Amardeep Steel supplies Titanium Grade 1 tubes with EN 10204 3.1 mill test certificates and complete heat traceability. Compare our ASTM B338 Grade 2 titanium tubes, or browse our titanium pipes and tubes.
What Are Titanium Grade 1 Tubes?
Commercially pure titanium is graded by its oxygen and iron content. Grade 1 has the lowest, at 0.18% oxygen and 0.20% iron maximum, so it has the lowest strength and the highest elongation of the CP grades. It resists seawater, chlorides, oxidising acids and wet chlorine, and is non-magnetic.
When to Choose Grade 1 over Grade 2
Choose Grade 1 when the tube must be formed hard: tight U-bends, roller expansion into thin tube sheets, flaring, or explosive cladding. Where pressure rating matters more than formability, Grade 2 or Grade 3 lets you use a thinner wall.
