Stainless Steel 444 ERW Pipes & Tubes Manufacturer and Supplier in India

SS 444 ERW Pipes & Tubes

Stainless Steel 444 ERW pipes and tubes are Ferritic steel pipe/tube containing molybdenum that is in compliance with UNS S44400, EN 1.4521 (X2CrMoTi18-2). Stabilization with titanium/niobium, 1.75%-2.50% molybdenum and extremely low carbon/nitrogen levels provide excellent resistance to pitting corrosion, crevice corrosion and chloride stress corrosion cracking. Low thermal expansion suits systems that heat and cool repeatedly. Typical uses are heat exchangers, solar water heaters, hot water storage and water handling equipment. Amardeep Steel Centre supplies them in India for domestic and export orders.

Applications and Industrial Uses of Stainless Steel 444 ERW Pipes & Tubes

Frequently Asked Questions

What are Stainless Steel 444 ERW Pipes and Tubes?

Stainless Steel 444 ERW Pipes and Tubes are molybdenum-bearing ferritic stainless steel products made by electric resistance welding, offering good corrosion and heat resistance.

What is Stainless Steel 444 used for?

SS 444 is used for heat exchangers, solar water heaters, hot water systems, water-handling equipment, and industrial applications.

What is the difference between Stainless Steel 444 and 316?

SS 444 is a molybdenum-bearing ferritic stainless steel with very low nickel, while SS 316 is an austenitic stainless steel containing nickel and molybdenum.

Why is molybdenum added to Stainless Steel 444?

Molybdenum improves resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion, particularly in chloride-containing environments.

Is Stainless Steel 444 resistant to chloride corrosion?

Yes, SS 444 provides good resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion, and chloride-related corrosion.

Can Stainless Steel 444 be used in solar water heaters?

Yes, SS 444 is suitable for solar water heater components because of its corrosion resistance and low thermal expansion.

Is Stainless Steel 444 suitable for hot water systems?

Yes, SS 444 is commonly used in hot water systems where resistance to corrosion and stress corrosion cracking is required.

Is Stainless Steel 444 magnetic?

Yes, SS 444 is a ferritic stainless steel and is normally magnetic.
