Manganese Bronze Tubes are cast copper alloys that are used to make heavy duty bushings, bearings, gears and other wear resistant parts. The alloys are offered in various grades (C86300, C86200, C86500) that offer a balance of strength, hardness, and wear resistance for more demanding mechanical applications. C86300 (SAE 430B), the strongest grade with a 758 MPa (110 ksi) minimum tensile strength, is recommended for components that are heavily loaded and are operated at relatively low speeds with adequate lubrication. These tubes are usually manufactured using continuous casting or centrifugal casting and are provided with both inside and outside machining allowances. Unlike pressure pipe or condenser tube, manganese bronze tube is cast stock that is machined into finished parts and manganese bronze tubes are mainly used to make finished mechanical components. Amardeep Steel is a supplier of tube stock of manganese bronze for industrial manufacturing needs.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is manganese bronze tube?
Manganese bronze tube is a high-strength cast copper alloy tube used to manufacture heavy-duty bushings, bearings, gears, and other wear-resistant components.
Is manganese bronze a brass or a bronze?
Manganese bronze is technically a high-strength brass because it mainly contains copper and zinc, with additions of aluminium, iron, and manganese.
What is the difference between C86300, C86200, and C86500?
C86300 has 5% to 7.5% aluminium and is the strongest (758 MPa minimum tensile). C86200 has similar copper and zinc with less aluminium. C86500 has more zinc and less aluminium, and machines more easily.
Is manganese bronze resistant to wear and corrosion?
Yes, manganese bronze offers good strength and wear resistance. Its corrosion resistance depends on the alloy grade and service environment, so suitability should be checked for specific conditions.
Can manganese bronze tubes be machined into bushings and bearings?
Yes, manganese bronze tubes can be machined into bushings, bearings, gears, and other industrial wear components. Hollow tube stock can reduce material waste compared with solid bar.
Are manganese bronze tubes suitable for marine applications?
Yes, selected manganese bronze grades are used for marine components such as rudder parts and shaft bearings. The specific alloy must be checked for the seawater conditions and corrosion requirements.
