The S32003 Pipes & Tubes are lean duplex stainless steel products with good corrosion resistance and provide a good corrosion resistance with a high strength level for industrial applications. It's also known as UNS S32003, Lean Duplex 2003, and ATI 2003, this grade contains 19.5-22.5% chromium, 3-4% nickel, 1.5-2% molybdenum, and 0.14-0.20% nitrogen. It has a minimum yield strength of 450 MPa, and suits service that needs high strength and good pitting resistance. The pipes are available to ASTM A790, the tubes to ASTM A789 and the fusion welded pipes to ASTM A928. Typical applications are chemical processing, water treatment, heat exchangers and pressure vessels. Amardeep Steel is a reputable manufacturer and supplier of S32003 Pipes & Tubes in India, offering quality products and inspection reports.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is UNS S32003?
UNS S32003 (lean duplex 2003, ATI 2003) is a duplex stainless steel with 19.5% to 22.5% chromium, 3% to 4% nickel, 1.5% to 2% molybdenum and 0.14% to 0.20% nitrogen.
Which ASTM standards cover S32003 pipes and tubes?
ASTM A790 / ASME SA790 covers pipe, ASTM A789 / ASME SA789 covers tube and ASTM A928 covers fusion welded pipe with filler.
Is S32003 better than 316L?
For strength and chloride stress corrosion cracking, yes. S32003 has about twice the yield of 316L and pitting resistance slightly above 317L.
What is the difference between S32003 and S32205?
S32205 (2205) has more chromium, nickel and molybdenum, giving higher pitting and crevice resistance. S32003 has similar strength with less alloy and better resistance to sigma phase.
What is the maximum service temperature of S32003?
The producer sets an upper limit of 343°C (650°F) to avoid 475°C embrittlement.
Can S32003 be used in pressure vessels?
Yes. ASME Code Case 2503-1 allows S32003 in Section VIII Division 1 construction.
