High Strength Low Alloy Steel 550 Tubing

Boiler Tubes

When compared to standard carbon steels of equal strength levels, High Strength Low Alloy steels are developed to achieve stronger steels while enhancing formability and weldability. Small amounts of alloying elements are one of the most important additions. Because the numbers are insufficient to classify these steels as alloyed steels, a family of HSLA steels was created. Fine carbide formers such as vanadium, columbium (niobium), and titanium have proven to be quite efficient in boosting steel strength levels to the point where carbon levels can be reduced greatly. Weldability, formability, and toughness are all enhanced by the lower carbon concentration.

Adding modest amounts of vanadium, columbium, and/or titanium to the hot rolling process allows for grain refinement and precipitation strengthening.

What Are The Benefits Of HSLA Tubing?

Customers can choose from a variety of lightweight solutions, such as lowering wall thickness and boosting overall strength to create lighter items. To meet the growing demand for higher-strength tubes, Increased toughness and formability at strength values above that of ordinary carbon steels A wide range of minimum strength values are available for flat coil goods that will be cold-worked and welded into tubular products. Hot Rolled and Cold Rolled options are available. Available in two finishes: bare and galvanised. Other HSLA grades to choose from ksi. [mpa] 45[310], 50[340], 55[380], 60[410], 65[450], 70[480], 80 [550] ASTM Grades SAE Grades 5[300], 50[340], 55[380], 60.9[420], 71[490], 80 [550] SAE Grades 5[300], 50[340], 55[380], 60.9[420], 71[490], 80 [550] SAE Grades 5[300 GR 90[620], 100[690] are ultra-high-strength steels. HSLA Steel Tubing is used in the following industries and applications: Hitch tubes, hitch receivers, cross members, frame rails, engine cradles, suspension cradles, radiator supports, instrument panel supports, front end collision systems, etc. Automotive: Hitch tubes, hitch receivers, cross members, frame rails, engine cradles, suspension cradles, radiator supports, instrument panel supports, front end collision systems, etc. Roll cages, frames, handle bars, steering components, and suspension control arms for ATVs and utility vehicles Fence supports, farm implements, and tine bars are examples of agricultural products. Roll Over Protection Systems (ROPS), mower deck supports, steering components, and handle bars are all included in the lawn and garden category. Legs, table supports, and chair columns are all examples of office furniture. Actuators, side rails, and supports for hospital beds
